NBC ...when will you learn

Quick show of hands, how many of you remember those TV's shows where the vehicle was the star? There were a bunch of them, but surely you remember Knight Rider on Friday nights.

Turns out the creative minds at NBC are bringing KITT back for a TV movie......as a Ford Mustang Shelby. You're kidding me right? Replacing a Pontiac with a Ford? What's next, Wonder Woman returns as a....GUY? This isn't the first time Hollywood has modernized a car, take for example the Batmobile. I'm sure fans of the 60's show didn't appreciate the Ultra Black version from the movies. The Mustang is a great car and since GM doesn't make the Trans-Am anymore what choice did NBC have? I wonder what the producers of the Dukes of Hazzard movie did when they needed a bunch of 1969 Dodge Chargers? Oh yeah, they went out and bought as many as they could from collectors and the movie was a decent success at the box office (with some of the credit going to Jessica Simpson in a bikini).

Outside of David Hasselhoff making a cameo, don't expect this to be anything like the original. This is the result of a few Hollywood excecs who ran out of ideas and instead of bringing back what fans wanted, had to mess with something that actually worked.

Here's a list of some other shows the Peacock network is working on bringing back:

The A-Team in a Honda Odyssey.
Magnum P.I rides a Porsche.
Herbie the Love Bug as a Kia.
