Mike Fisher on your wall...

At the 2nd annual Charity for CHEO golf tournament there was a Mike Fisher framed signed jersey in the live auction. I promised the winner that if it got high enough I would throw in a bottle of Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot, a Sens putter and free plug on Stuntman and the Shark. Local real estate agent Kevin Coady responded, paying $1900! Thanks Kevin and congrats to tournament organizers Spencer and Lisa Warren for selling out in only their 2nd year.

Golf and Bob Barker...

The next time you're at a golf tournament or just enjoying a day away from the office, you can now order a bottle of Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot at the Canadian Golf and Country Club. Two dollars from each bottle goes to the Ottawa Senators foundation.

While we're on the subject of golf, remember the Bob Barker scene from Happy Gilmore? If you do, and want to see what happened behind the scenes, then watch the clip below:

Ottawa at Home, then GQ...

Since People magazine keeps snubbing me from their sexiest man alive cover, I have to thank Ottawa at Home magazine. No, they didn't want my looks, but featured the "Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot" in their latest issue. For details on how to have it at your next event, click on the wine bottle on the left hand side of my blog.

This is why Sandy won't be our next Governor General...

A few weeks ago the Main Street Cellar in Manotick hosted a wine tasting for the "Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot" with proceeds to the Sens foundation. My partner weekday mornings Sandy Sharkey, dropped by to support the cause and posed for some photos. This one ended up on the front page of the Manotick Messenger. Needless to say, she's horrified and wants the folks at the Messenger to tape a nicer photo of her on every issue of the paper.

And, no..this wasn't Sandy's reaction after trying the wine. The rest of the photos from the event can be found here.

Wine wine wine and Leaf nation...

Since introducing my own wine for charity last November at the wine & food show, I've answered lots of questions so it's time for a FAQ page:

1. Why did you do it?

I've always wanted to host my own golf tournament or gala but there's enough of them and I wanted to try something different.

2. How much does the Sens foundation get?

The Sens foundation gets $2 from every bottle. We have 2000 bottles, and even my grade 1 math can figure out that equals a $4,000 donation.

3. How much do you get, are the Sens paying you to do this?

Nothing, and no. I have kids and see how hard the Sens foundation works for various organizations. I've toured Rogers House several times and as a parent, it's the last place you ever want to be but thankful if you need it.

4. Did you make this wine in your basement?

No! I've partnered up with Huff Estates in Prince Edward County and they produce the "Stuntman Stu Red Line Merlot" along with many other fine wines.

5. Where can I get the wine?

Go to stuntmanstu.com and click on the left hand side where you see the wine bottle. It's one click and the wine is delivered to your home or office in 3 days.

6. Why can't I get it at the LCBO?

Without getting too technical, there's many costs behind the scenes and it would be much more than the 19.95 you're paying now.

7. When is the White coming out?

It's in the plans but nothing just yet. We're open to all kinds of feedback.

8. Can I order it with dinner at a restaurant?

Yes, the list is still growing and you can see which restaurants are involved on my blog, just below the wine tab.

Thanks to everyone who has supported this project so far. The next time you're hosting a dinner party or trying to come up with a cool gift idea for a wine lover on your list, give my wine a try and help support the Sens foundation at the same time.

We've even had some Leaf fans buy some bottles too...

The Merlot wins in Overtime...

Thanks to everyone who stopped by this past weekend at the wine and food show. Your comments, enthusiasm and well wishes were amazing. For those that couldn't make it out and have heard about some guy named Stu with a charity wine, here's the info in 90 seconds...courtesy of Sens TV
